Veronica O'Brien, MA, AMFT
Supervised Staff Therapist
Veronica O’Brien is a dedicated and compassionate Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the direct supervision of Dr. Tejal Jakatdar at Willow Anxiety and OCD. Veronica brings fourteen years of experience working with children as director at a corporate childcare facility, counselor at an elementary school, and working at other therapeutic agencies. Veronica obtained her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. The combination of both degrees has allowed Veronica to understand children and teens from a micro and macro perspective.
Veronica is passionate about working with children and teens. Growing up in poverty, Veronica saw the pain and silence that shadowed our youth and devoted herself to being the safe space and influence that children and teens not only deserve but need. She is especially enthusiastic about specialty areas of OCD and related disorders, anxiety and mood issues, and ARFID. Moreover, Veronica is well versed in parent coaching.
Veronica has completed extensive training in ERP, CBT, and DBT. Her compassionate approach blends evidence-based therapeutic techniques with a deep understanding of child development, allowing her to effectively work with young children and teens in a way that motivates them and builds their inner confidence.
When Veronica is not in the office, you will find her with her daughter and French bulldog, typically out in nature, and at the CrossFit gym.
